Alicia's Goals
Alicia is already proud of the success of the Whitnall School District – all three of her children are currently attending Whitnall schools. Here are some of her goals as a school board member to build upon that success for the future.

Safety
Alicia is dedicated to ensuring safety is a top priority. This includes facility security and coordinating with local law enforcement on the most up-to-date training and drills. It also includes ensuring students and their families have access to mental health care. Alicia will also make building accessibility a priority.

Academics
Academically, the Whitnall School District has exceeded expectations for many years. Alicia will work with staff and administration to ensure the district continues to excel academically while ensuring the individual learning goals of all students are met, regardless of their diverse backgrounds.

Inclusion
Alicia is very passionate about ensuring every child feels welcome, valued, and empowered to succeed, regardless of race, color, religion, orientation, identity, national origin, or disability. Belonging is crucial for students to gain the confidence to excel in their learning.

Staff
Alicia believes quality teachers and staff are critical to the success of Whitnall schools. Alicia will work with administration to ensure staff are fairly compensated and that there's a plan for growth and training. She will ensure that their schedules meet the needs of their teaching and development. Alicia also values open communication between staff, administration, and the board.

Collaboration
Alicia is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where the board, administration, staff, teachers, students, and community value and listen to each other's expertise and perspectives. This collaboration can drive continuous improvement in Whitnall schools.

Facilities and Fiscal Responsibility
While Alicia believes strongly in investing in improvement and maintenance of Whitnall schools, she also believes in doing so in a fiscally responsible manner. Over the past several years, Whitnall has paid down debt early, saved millions on interest, and lowered mill rates. Alicia plans to continue this.

Whitnall's Top Three Strengths
People & Community
The Whitnall School District comprises three great Southwest Milwaukee suburbs - Franklin, Greenfield, and Hales Corners. The Whitnall staff, teachers, and administration are some of the best around, which has been proven in the many awards and accolades the Whitnall schools have received. Whitnall also boasts so many great sports teams and individual competitors. The passion for Whitnall is shown by the many parent-led volunteer organizations.
Academics
The Whitnall School District has received a rating of Exceeds Expectations on the state report card every school year for the last 12 years that the data was measured. The elementary schools earned a Significantly Exceeds Expectations many of those years. Hales Corners Elementary was named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education. It was one of only 8 schools in Wisconsin to earn this distinction.
Fiscal Responsibility and Investment
The district passed a referendum in 2018 for much needed maintenance and improvements. That was paid off in 6 years (14 years early), saving taxpayers $2.6 million in interest. During that time, the mill rate decreased every year. In 2024, the district passed a new $79.1 million referendum for a much-needed new pool as well as many needed security, safety, accessibility, and maintenance needs. This new referendum only raised the mill rate by $0.03. Both referendums were for facilities expenses, not operating expenses. The district has been able to properly fund all operating expenses with a very well planned budget.
